The Day Before Monday (late post)

Hello there people! Here are some 'Sunday' pictures... =)

I had an ordinary Sunday- went to church in the morning, surf the net in the afternoon, went back to dorm at around 4 pm... and then did my homeworks. =) Nothing unusual happened. =)

at around 3 pm... This is "the haggard" look

Maybelline's Color Sensational in Brick Red

This one is pretty surprising. The color is nice and it stays so long. I ate, I drank, I splash my face with water, dab my lips with a tissue and the color's still there... Of course the intensity of the color decreased but it's still there. =)

picture before going back to Manila =)

There you go folks! This is a super late post! Sorry, I'm just too busy with school.

*I'm applying for a school organization- PROPharm (Progressive and Responsive Organization of Pharmacy). Wish me luck! =)

God bless... =)

It's Okay!

Hello people! I went to school earlier this morning to continue our requirement/ project in Biochemistry. =) I only spent around an hour because I forgot to bring something important... =D

Anyway, after my CP stay, I went to the mall and have my brother's invitation printed out (for his 7th birthday party). While waiting, I window-shopped (OF COURSE)... and I bought this...

Maybelline's Color Sensational in Brick Red =D

I was supposed to buy a khaki-colored Mango bag but my mama didn't allow me because I have to use my money for some school stuffs... =(

Oh well, it's okay, I understand... =)

So...

Just me, in my uniform...

The mirror is dirty! Sorry!

Bad skin, I know!!! I need an appointment with the dermatologist, SOOOOOOON!!!

-Ok folks... I have to go...

God bless you...

Work hard and do not be lazy. Serve the Lord with a heart full of devotion." =D

Manila Day!

Manila Day was Requirements Day for us, UP-CP students. Since there were no classes, we (my group mates and I) took the chance to do our project in Biochemistry...

We were supposed to do it at school but it was closed so we spent our time at Rob Towers. We worked for 4-5 hours! It was very tiring!!! =(

Oh well, school is school!

Okay guys, got to go... Sorry for a "nonsensical" post... Teehee!

God bless you guys! =D

Act Now!

Hello friends! How are you doing? =) I hope you’re having a nice time!

My Wednesday thoughts...
*ehem*

Poverty has always been a problem here in the Philippines. It’s sad to say but there are a lot of poor/ unfortunate families here. It breaks my heart seeing them. It really hurts me when I know a lot of people are suffering, when a lot of people are lonely and in a state of depression. *sigh*

I used to dream of being super rich someday so I can help others. But you know what? God wants me to act now! I’ve read during my ‘me-time’ reflection that one should not wait for a certain time to do right things. What if I do not get to be rich at all? Will I not help them because I do not have money? Am I not capable of helping them now, even if I’m still a student? Those questions were raised while I was having a ‘conversation’ with God. He wants me to do something, in my own little way. He wants me to act. And it doesn’t matter if it’s big or small, as long as it comes from the heart. =)

....

“One grace each child of God can show is giving from a willing heart. Yet, if we wait till riches grow, it well may be we’ll never start.”- D. De Haan

No classes tomorrow = MANILA DAY!!! =)

What a Saturday!

Yesterday was just an ordinary, boring day! What did I do? I woke up early, went back to dorm and did my assignment for 6 hours! That's just for one subject (and I'm still not done)! I didn't even eat lunch!!! What a tiring day!

Anyway, here's the book that I bought at National Bookstore. There are two volumes and an atlas. They're colored so I guess, the price is quite okay.

What I wore yesterday...
(The picture was taken after I got home so I looked blah! =D)

Ooohhh well! I'm not being productive whenever I'm home. That's why I went back to my dorm yesterday to do school stuffs... Right now, I feel like I need to do something school-related... But I am not in the mood! Then later, I'll panic again because of my overflowing to-do list!!!

Argh!!!

-0-

Changing the subject, I want to buy a new lipstick and a white blazer... But, but, but there are other things more important than those so I have to SAVE MONEY! =)

Okay people, time to go...

Ingat kayo
! =)

Oh yeah! HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to my PAPA... =D
I love you soo much! =D

Just an Update

Hello there friends! I have nothing special to tell you but I just want you to know that I'm still alive. Yey! =)

As I've said in my previous post, school's starting to get toxic. A lot of requirements need to be done... Pass this, study this, review that, blah blah blah... Oh well, what do I expect? This is a student's life.

Yesterday, Thursday, I had my P.E. class (Philippine Games). We played four games. Oh boy! It was very tiring BUT totally fun! My leg muscles are sore right now due to continuous running yesterday! Ha-ha!

After my class, our whole batch (pharmacy and industrial pharmacy third year students) had a meeting about our upcoming performance for the Freshmen Night! Our theme is Glee! Yey! =D

Earlier this afternoon, I bought a book for my Human Anatomy and Physiology class! Man! Php 2400 for a book... I could have bought a top or a dress or a pair of shoes!

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I'll be using that book a lot...

Okay guys, you now know that I'm still alive. =D

I'm eating chocolates right now! Yummy! =D

Bye...

My Everyday Lip Wear

This is my everyday (i.e. school days) lipstick. It’s from Prestige and I bought it at Beauty Bar. I forgot its exact price but I think it’s around Php 300-400. Pretty cheap huh? =D

Anyway, I like this lipstick because it gives my lips a subtle hint of color, not too light and not too dark, hence perfect for school. It is also somewhat shiny, which I also like. The only down-side is that its staying power is not too long so I have to reapply it every 3 hours or so. Or maybe it’s just me because I am always running around, doing something and stressing myself out; I don’t know.

But like what I’ve said, it’s cheap. And man! I am only a student with no source of income other than my parents’ wallet. =)

(intentionally blurred) =D

School's starting to get toxic. I didn't have my lunch earlier because my classes are sunod-sunod. I am soooo tired and I want to sleep but I still have lots of things to do...

Enjoy the rest of the day guys!

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl

I finally finished reading Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. I was introduced to this book when I was in high school. And since then I’ve wanted to read this but didn’t have a chance. So after many years, I finally got an e-book copy and the time to read!

Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl is a good read, well at least for me. Though some of her entries are not interesting (for me) as it talked about politics, all in all, the book is very informative. I like history, especially about wars, so I enjoyed reading Anne Frank’s accounts of the war and their life in the Secret Annex. It has been very difficult for them. They’ve been very careful and they tried to limit their eating as much as possible to save food and money. I also salute their helpers because they took the risk of being imprisoned just to help 8 people in hiding.

When we discussed Anne’s diary back in high school, I thought she was a goody-good girl but I was wrong. (Read the book to find out why. =D) But what I like about her is that she’s not afraid to say anything to anyone. And she’s a very brave girl.

They’ve been hiding for more or less two years. Anne’s last entry on her diary was on August 1, 1944 and they were arrested on August 4, 1944. I felt sad for their arrest because they (the 8 people in hiding and their helpers) thought they’ll have their freedom since invasion has already started. *sad*

Of the eight people, only Otto Frank (Anne’s father) survived. Anne died because of typhus (maybe late February or early March of 1945, three months short before her 16th birthday.)

This is the most regrettable death, I think:
Peter (Anne’s friend who also hid with them) died three days before the camp was liberated.

-Oh well, I really felt sad for their fates. And yes Hitler was cruel. If I remember it correctly he ordered full execution of the Jews because Churchill was a Jew (not sure though). I’ll search for it...

*sigh*

Good day guys!!!
Enjoy! =)

Random

A peek into my world!

Those are some of the books I use. Most of my references are e-books: cheaper (free even) and less bulky. I also spend most of my free time in the library, researching and doing school requirements.

These are the things I bought last Tuesday: a planner from Papemelroti, earrings from 50th Avenue, and school supplies from National Bookstore.

earrings =D

What’s inside my SIMPLE kikay kit? Here: perfume, face sun block, comb, alcohol, face powder, mirror, lip gloss, concealer, lipstick, oil control film. Not that much, I actually don’t use them most of the time. Haha! I do not have much time to fix myself every now and then.

Speaking of time...
I think I won’t have much time here in the blogging world now that school has started. But during weekends, I’ll be able to update and read... =) I promise.

Last

Yesterday was the last day of vacation and so, I have to end it in a nice way. At around 11 in the morning, I met up with Joanne so that we can have lunch together. First, I accompanied her in her shopping, (I bought some stuffs too. Later I’m going to tell you what I bought.) and at around 12:00 we had our lunch at Max’s Restaurant. After lunch, we window-shopped and had yogurts at White Hat. (They’re delicious and healthy too!) At past 3, Daryl showed up; he had his merienda (or lunch, I don’t know what exactly.) Then we headed to the bookstore to buy some stuffs. Ten to fifteen minutes to 5:00, we bought our movie tickets and then, finally, watched Prince of Persia.

The movie’s very nice- the story line, the actors and actresses, and the effects. It was really worth the money! =D (a happy ending too! Ha-ha!)

Oh yeah! I bought a facial tissue and e.l.f. studio under eye concealer and highlighter. =)

Okay guys... That’s all for now, I’mma do my school requirements... Tomorrow my class will start at 7 am; the next class will be 10 am; and then followed by a 1:00 class... Talk about NO LUNCH BREAK!!!

Talents

Have you guys heard (or read) about the Parable of the Three Servants? (Matthew 25: 1-30) It’s about, well, three servants who were entrusted with properties because their master will be on a trip. Each servant was given a property according to their abilities. Servant 1 received five thousand gold coins, servant 2 received two thousand and the last received one thousand gold coins. Servants 1 and 2 invested their money and earned twice the original. But the last servant dug a hole in the ground and buried his money.

After a long time, the master came back and had the three servants report to him. He was pleased with the first two servants because they were able to multiply what was given to them. As a result, the master let them manage large amounts of properties. On the other hand, he got furious with the third servant because instead of investing the money (or at least depositing it in the bank), he buried it in the ground. The master then took away all his money and threw him outside (in the darkness.)

(You guys can check Matthew 25:1-30) =D

The lesson in this parable is that one should make use of or enhance their given talents. (The gold coins are comparable to God-given talents.) God gave us gifts and it is our duty to use them according to His will. It is very simple: if we do not use it, we will lose it; if we use it, we will be rewarded more. (From the words of a pastor) Who doesn’t want to be rewarded? So for us to gain more, we should share what we have to others. He expects us to use our talent, from singing to cooking to cleaning to teaching to sketching, anything that is God-given. We should not waste our opportunity of sharing!

I lost a talent. I lost my ability to play piano. Why? Because I put myself first before God. I stopped my piano lessons because I was always lazy. I did not want to go to the lessons and then later on made ‘school- hectic schedule’ a reason to quit. I was supposed to be the next pianist for our church. Everyone expected that I will be...

Now, I can’t play anymore. I can barely read musical notes (if not slow.) And yeah, I miss playing. I had memorized a few musical pieces before. I could play those without reading the notes. But now, I can’t. Everything’s gone.

I am still hoping that I’ll be able to study again. I really miss it. Maybe someday...

Lesson learned, never waste your God-given talent...

Getting Ready

Oh yes! I'm getting ready for school. I'm quite scared actually because I don't know what will happen to me and how much stress I will have. I hope everything will turn out okay. I'll just pray for the best.

Anyway, here are the things I bought as a preparation for this coming new semester. =)

scientific calculator and two pens

oil control film and COVERGIRL lip gloss...
I am not a make-up person (because I can easily get pimples, boo!) but I do use lip glosses and lipsticks. I feel incomplete whenever I do not have one on.

hair accessories from Rob's Department Store... I'll be using these during laboratory periods. =)

-0-
I was at the dormitory yesterday cleaning and organizing my things, but I am not yet done. (Tee-hee!) Tommorow I'll be back to continue cleaning... June 8, first day of school!!! Waaaah! I am scared!!!

Those are my lab gowns and two sets of uniform.

Some school stuffs...

My toolboxes (contains laboratory glasswares)

Have a nice day everyone! =)

Registered!

Finally! I am already enrolled! The process was quite fast compared to the preceding semesters... (a surprise for most pharmacy students) While waiting for my form 5, Trisha (a friend) and I went to National Bookstore to buy some stuffs. Since I do not have enough money with me, I just bought a gold colored clear book for hand-outs and a set of filler for note-taking. =D (Still not ready for school though)

This is what I wore last Tuesday.

This is what I wore earlier this morning to get my form 5... very simple and casual since I was just in school and it's already rainy season here in the Philippines. =D

my trusted owl necklace

I have a killer schedule this coming semester. I think I just opened the door towards self-destruction!!! Oh goodness!

Anyway, I just downloaded 2 e-books: Harrison's Principle of Internal Medicine, and Pharmaceutical Statistics: Practical and Clinical Applications. I still have to download more... (toxic much? XD) I need to have my resources as early as now! Oh yes! I am grade-conscious... actually since grade school... Before college, I always want to have high grades but now a passing grade is enough. Haha! UP has changed my life, BIG TIME! =D

Tomorrow, my mom and I will go shopping again!!! yey!!! =D Uh-oh Aizel! Remember your resolution number 4? haha! =D

God bless you guys! Wish me luck for this coming semester!

New School Year's Resolution

Okay, so I don’t know if I’ll be able to make this happen but hey! There’s no harm in trying right?

First in the list is my school performance. Last semester, I know I did my best. Though I did fail one subject, I am more than sure that I gave every effort that I have. This new school year, I’ll still do my best. I’ll study harder and I’ll make sure that every subject will be given equal and enough attention. (Oh! And I’ll try not to feel sleepy during class!)

Second is myself. More often than not, I neglect my personal needs, i.e. my health and my physical appearance. Since I started going to UP, I comb my hair only once a day, that is after I take a bath in the morning. Yes, I am that stubborn. But the thing is my classes run after another so I do not have much time to grab a comb. So now, I’ll at least try to always look presentable. I don’t want to be vain or to look really really good; I just want to look nice and not so stressed. And I’ll visit my dermatologist at least twice a month.

I will also try to eat healthy foods. No, I will not be a vegetarian. I can’t handle that! I’ll just minimize my ‘fast-food’ food intake. And I’ll opt for a fruit juice instead of soda. I think I also have to exercise daily, maybe basic arm circling and curl-ups are enough for a starter.

Third and the most important is my relationship with God. My dormitory and my school have drawn me closer to God. But sometimes, I neglect His call because of ‘school stress’, tiredness and the like. This school year, I want to increase my time with Him. I really want Him to be the center of my life. I’ll also try not to miss our Bible studies, no matter how heavy my school loads are.

Fourth, I’ll TRY to save money. There’s a big emphasis on ‘try’ because I actually do not know how to save money. It’s sad to say but I’m not a wise money spender. My disease is that I buy anything that I like whenever I have money. So for the nth time, I’ll TRY to save money.

Fifth (the last) is my love life. I am single and I enjoy being single. But sometimes, during lonely times, I miss having someone. And it’s depressing! This new school year, I will try not to think of boys (“HIM” ESPECIALLY.) And I hope it’s possible (though I actually doubt that knowing myself!) But again, there’s no harm in trying.

Okay, so I think my list is complete. Now all I have to do is to apply. (I hope!) Cheers to the better me! =D

Style Icon: Annalynne McCord

Annalynne McCord is made popular by the teen TV series 90210 (as Naomi). I love her style and the way she carries herself... It's casual, somehow edgy, and sexy all at the same time!
